3D Mobile Games

In development by Threshold Games, Sumo Balls is a 3D, physics-based platformer in the style of games like Final Fight. Players each control one of up to four sumo wrestler characters. The sumos take the form of heavily stylized spherical characters that look like fat Weebles. Republic of Fun is publishing Sumo Balls for the iPhone.

Location Based Mobile Apps

GPS enabled smart phones have given birth to a whole new category of applications. With GPS, mobile apps can be location aware and offer users location based information or allow users to create location based inforamtion. Examples include guided tours or location tagged photos.

Mobile Web Linked Apps

Many apps are now linked to a companion website to create very powerful data driven products. The mobile app component allows anywhere access to application data. It also allows users to capture data such as location based photos or recent fishing locations at the lake. Later this same data can be viewed on the companion website with more visual detail.
